Circle Layer Float is a customizable motion background generator for DaVinci Resolve, designed for creators who want clean, elegant floating visuals with subtle depth. It features multiple circular elements that move freely with smooth, organic motion, creating a calm and professional look ideal for titles, interfaces, presentations, and minimal motion graphics.

Built entirely inside Fusion, the generator works without keyframes or external assets. All visual and motion parameters are controlled through a simple Inspector interface, making it easy to adapt the background to different moods, color palettes, and pacing, from slow ambient motion to more dynamic floating compositions.

With flexible controls for circle size, edge softness, motion speed, randomness, shadows, and background color, Circle Layer Float works equally well as a standalone motion background or as a subtle animated layer behind text and titles.

Features of this template

• Circle Appearance: Control circle color, size using the Width parameter, soften edges with the Soft Edge slider, and fine tune overall visibility using the Blend control.
• Circle Motion: Adjust floating behavior with Speed and Jitter. Speed controls how fast the circles move, while Jitter defines the amount of randomness and organic variation in the motion.
• Shadow Controls: Enable or disable shadows for all circles at once and adjust shadow strength, distance, and blur to add depth and separation. Includes independent shadow color control.
• Shadow Motion: Control the speed of the animated shadow movement.
• Background Controls: Set a solid background color with full RGBA control or switch to a gradient background to better match your design or brand palette.
• Fully Procedural and Lightweight: Built entirely inside Fusion with no external footage or textures. Designed to be performance friendly and suitable for long timelines and seamless looping backgrounds.

How to install

• Download and unzip the package
• Double click CircleLayerFloat.drfx to install the template
• Click Install (or Overwrite if updating)
• Restart DaVinci Resolve
• On the Edit Page, navigate to:
  • Effects Library > Toolbox > Generators > Circle Layer Float
• You can also search for Circle Layer Float using the search bar.

How to use

• On the Edit Page, drag and drop Circle Layer Float onto your timeline
• Select the clip and open Inspector > Video > Generator
• Adjust circle size, edge softness, and blend
• Control motion speed and randomness using Speed and Jitter
• Enable shadows and fine tune depth and softness
• Set a background color to complete the look

Use it as a standalone motion background or as a subtle animated layer behind titles and text.
